What is Crisis Intervention?

In times of crisis, immediate and compassionate support can make all the difference. Kat provides specialized Crisis Intervention Services for individuals, first responders, and communities affected by critical incidents such as natural and environmental disasters, domestic incidents involving law enforcement, school shootings, workplace trauma, traumatic accidents, and sudden or traumatic loss.

Kat is a trained Redline Rescue provider and trained in Critical Incident Stress Management (CISM) through the International Critical Incident Stress Foundation (ICISF). CISM is a proven, evidence-informed approach designed to help people manage the emotional, cognitive, and physical impacts of traumatic events.

The CISM model provides structured, peer-supported methods to help individuals and teams:

  • Understand and normalize their stress responses

  • Process the immediate emotional impact of the event

  • Identify and strengthen healthy coping strategies

  • Restore functioning and prepare to return to normal routines or work responsibilities

Through this process, Kat provides a calm and supportive presence, facilitating recovery and resilience in the aftermath of crisis. Whether working with first responders on the front lines or civilians experiencing trauma, the focus is on helping individuals regain stability, reduce distress, and move forward with support and understanding.

Kat’s crisis intervention work reflects a commitment to community care, trauma-informed practice, and peer collaboration, offering hope and guidance when it’s needed most.
